What it costs to keep free
Keeping this free is not free to run. There is hosting, the safety checks that verify every reveal before it travels, the original artwork on every card, and one person’s time. No figures here — they go stale and invite an audit; categories tell the truth without a number. That is where a contribution goes.
What it doesn’t do
Contributing unlocks nothing. Everyone gets the same Lantern Post, always. That’s the point.
Where it goes
There’s an old story about a hen who planted the grain, tended it, harvested it, and baked the bread — and found plenty of takers at the table and none in the field. This is the field.
